Museum of André Kertész

In Szigetbecse

The outstanding photographer of the 20th century, André Kertész spent the summers in Szigetbecse, at his uncle, Mihály Klöpfer’s place. His connection to the village was for life, so he welcomed the plan with big joy, that a house would be built for him in the town, similar to his relative’s old place.

His personal belongings, some pieces of furniture from his New York flat and 120 signed photos were given to the memory museum wearing his name, which has been open for the visitors since 1987.
